Cornerstone Bible
Church - Mission Statement
To build and develop a
loving community of families in the River Vale and surrounding areas in
which members, visitors and regular attendees are converted, educated,
inspired, and encouraged by dynamic engagement with the Word of God.
CBC is focused on
Jesus Christ and is organized as an independent, congregationally run
bible-believing church in the Baptist tradition. CBC serves the
needs of it's families, enfolding visitors, regular attendees and
members into the church family in a friendly, authentic way which serves
to open doors to a natural evangelical outreach.
CBC serves
predominately middle class, conservative and 1st generation bible
believing families. These families are not always uniformly
Christian and as such, CBC ministers to mixed families of believers and
non-believers. A significant component of our people are converted
Catholics (50%) and their children (50% of our population) who are
without a protestant tradition and without many 2nd or higher generation
Christians who can serve as role models. In addition, CBC draws
students from Nyack College who tend to be transient throughout the
year.
As a consequence, CBC
is:
- A consumer-based
church striving to encourage worshippers to a more active role
- 1st generation
adults without older Christian role models hoping to transition to a
2nd generation model through their children.
- A local church
serving its direct community
- Predominately
middle class economically and culturally
CBC hold values that
encompass:
- Bible centered
preaching and teaching
- Family
- Fellowship and
community
As such, CBC offers the
following programs and services that support the above transitions and
values while encouraging personal and church growth.
